GuildSomm is thrilled to connect with the sommeliers, educators, and beverage professionals of ASI’s global community. Since becoming an educational partner of ASI a few years ago, we have enjoyed supporting and celebrating your achievements, however big or small. We hope GuildSomm has played a small part in your success by providing resources, networking possibilities, and scholarship opportunities.
If you’re not yet familiar with GuildSomm, we’re glad to introduce ourselves! GuildSomm is an international nonprofit membership organization founded in 2014 for wine industry professionals and aficionados. Our mission is to create accurate, comprehensive, and accessible educational content in support of the global beverage community.
We reach our members through our website and both online and in-person events. Over 9,000 members compose our international community, representing more than 90 countries and all facets of the beverage industry. Through our forums, members can connect, discussing study topics, career challenges, tasting tips, and much more.
Resources to Support Your Learning Journey
Many people know GuildSomm as a resource for those preparing for ASI’s Best Sommelier of the World competition, pursing advanced certifications such as the WSET Diploma, or working toward the Master of Wine and Master Sommelier titles. While we are proud to support those rigorous journeys, our content also serves those who simply want to deepen their appreciation of wine and stay relevant in their profession.
Our always-expanding educational resources include guides for study at the introductory through expert level, along with e-learning courses, producer profiles, vintage charts, and more. These cover the key regions and topics of the wine world: history, geography, climate, beverage law, grape varieties, viticulture, winemaking, and wine styles. Our Wine Law Compendium, an always up-to-date repository of wine and beverage law for regions around the globe, remains a member favorite.

Quizzes and Challenges to Test Your Knowledge Daily
We launched a brand-new set of review quizzes to help you check your progress or study on the go. Members can find 2,000 questions on 40 topics across three levels of difficulty. You can take the quizzes as many times as you’d like through our website or app, and your progress will be tracked.
We also provide a Question of the Day and Word of the Day! Have some fun quickly testing your knowledge and join the leaderboard to see how you stack up against other GuildSomm members.
GuildSomm Maps to Complement Your Studies
We partnered with Greg Van Wagner, creator of SommGeo, to develop a new collection of custom GuildSomm maps designed specifically for our members. We recently published the first set of 26 maps, each available in both a detailed topographical version and an outline format for studying and note-taking. Throughout the year, we’ll expand the collection to more than 100 maps, with interactive features planned for 2027.
